Expressionism.

Though the term expressionism was not coined until the twenty century. It roots can be traced back to the late 1800s. This art developed out of the effort to move beyond the soft paste colours and the delicate textures of the impressionists’. Post Impressionist artists such as Vincent Van Gogh Infused their work with grate emotional intensity. Bolder colours with more impulsive thicker brushwork. But often the results were far from dramatic works that often became distorted intense and were seen as childlike. Often the emotions of the artiest began to take center stage from the subjected matter. The reactions to these often aggressive styles of painting were far from universally positive in the beginning in the case of Vincent Van Gogh it has been said he sold a choice of canvases to a butcher for food They were used to rap meet and given to customers as a meat rapping a shock for those who ponder at such talent in a museum or gallery. The masters were Vincent Van Gogh, Edvard Munich, Paul Cezanne, Henri Matisse, Paul Gauguin and many more.
